Discover NerežišćaThe other Brač
Brač has another rhythm beyond its beaches. In Nerežišća, limestone houses, little squares and church towers tell the story of a village that once governed the island.
Begin with a slow walk through the centre. Then follow the story into the neighbouring stone villages, the heights of Vidova Gora and the remote valley of Blaca.

Make a little room
01 · Morning
Walk through Nerežišća, find the roof pine and notice the larger parish church. Let the streets set your pace.
02 · Midday
Continue to Donji Humac or Dračevica. Pause for a meal; ask locally about seasonal food and workshops open to visitors.
03 · Afternoon
Head towards Vidova Gora for the view, or plan Blaca as the main outing. Give the walk and museum visit the time they need.
A suggested route, not a timed tour. Blaca access, walking conditions and museum opening arrangements should be confirmed before departure.

Nerežišća is in the interior of Brač, an island in Croatia’s Central Dalmatia region. The village stands at about 382 metres above sea level, inland from Supetar.
Its former role as the island’s administrative centre, stone architecture and the pine growing on the roof of the small Church of St Peter and Paul. It is also a starting point for exploring inland Brač.
No. The final approach to Blaca Hermitage is on foot. The Supetar Tourist Board describes a walk of about half an hour from Dragovoda; allow extra time for the terrain, heat and return journey.
No. Vidova Gora is Brač’s mountain landscape. Its 778-metre summit overlooks the southern coast, including Bol and Zlatni Rat. Nerežišća itself is an inland village.
Allow a half day for the village and a neighbouring settlement, or a full day with one major landscape outing. Plan Blaca around museum access and your walking ability.
